Romano said that both of her parents had cancer. Her mother lived, but her father did not. Also, her grandmother on her mother’s side died of lung cancer. She got tested because actor James Van Der Beek died recently from colorectal cancer. Romano said, “Cancer is everywhere, which is why I got this test.” The Cleveland Clinic says that the “Even Stevens” and “Kim Possible” star is now set to have a PET scan, which uses a radioactive tracer to find cancer. She said she was working with insurance companies to pay for the scan. Romano wrote in the caption of her post, “Right now the news is that something is going on.” She didn’t want to share the news because she was afraid it would make her look “cringe,” but she thought it was important to get other people to get screened. Romano said she was hopeful and talked about her two daughters, Isabella, 9, and Sophia, 7, with her husband, Brendan Rooney. “People probably think I’m overreacting, but I’m not. Cancer is serious, and I have two little girls,” she said. Romano promised to keep looking for answers and thanked her family for their help. Rooney said in the comments, “You can do this, my beautiful wife.
