Perez Hilton was hospitalized Tuesday night after Miami-Dade County deputies responded to his home following reports of a crisis broadcast on social media, authorities confirmed.

What Authorities Have Said

A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed by email that deputies were dispatched after receiving reports of an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm. The statement was issued in response to a media inquiry about Hilton but stopped short of naming him directly — standard practice in cases involving a person’s medical status.

In a subsequent update, the office said the individual was safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a nearby hospital for treatment. Deputies also spoke with family members at the scene, who confirmed the person had been alone in the residence at the time.

Footage captured in the neighborhood by NBC South Florida showed several patrol vehicles on the block and a section of the street closed off with police tape.

The livestream itself was posted to TikTok and later removed by the platform. Viewers watching in real time attempted to intervene, some asking for a phone number so they could contact emergency services on his behalf.

His Representatives Respond

Golden Artists Entertainment, the talent management firm that represents Hilton, issued a statement Tuesday night acknowledging the situation.

Co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan said the company was aware of the concerning content circulating online involving their client. At the time the statement went out, they said they had not managed to reach him directly despite repeated attempts.

“Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well being, as well as the well being of his family,” the statement read.

The Broader Context

There is also a limit to what is publicly knowable, and it is worth respecting. Authorities have confirmed a response and a hospitalization. Beyond that, Hilton’s condition, his prognosis, and the circumstances leading up to Tuesday night are matters for him, his family, and his doctors. Speculation fills space but serves no one.

For a figure whose entire career was built on documenting other people’s worst moments, there is an obvious irony in the way this story has traveled. But irony is a poor lens for something like this.
