Justin Baldoni has broken his silence on the Blake Lively legal battle, opening up for the first time since the lengthy dispute with his “It Ends With Us” co-star came to an end earlier this year. In an emotional message, the actor and director reflected on the pain, silence, and healing his family has endured over the past two years.

Baldoni shared his thoughts in a nearly five-minute video posted to Instagram on Wednesday evening. Seated beside his wife, Emily Baldoni, he explained why he had stayed quiet and how his family has weathered the storm since the case first erupted in August 2024 and captivated Hollywood.

He said the couple had refrained from speaking publicly for the better part of two years, not for a lack of things to say, but because something always told them the timing wasn’t right. Every time they considered making a video like this one, he explained, an instinct held them back.

Wednesday, it seemed, finally felt right. The message came more than two months after Baldoni and Lively reached a settlement, struck just weeks before the case, which centered on alleged sexual harassment on the set of “It Ends With Us,” was set to go to trial. The legal battle ultimately concluded with the court ordering Baldoni to pay Lively’s attorneys’ fees, though no additional damages.

Wrestling With Pain and Gratitude

Throughout the video, the couple returned to a theme of gratitude, saying it had “saved us” over the difficult stretch. But Emily was careful to note that the gratitude they now feel doesn’t erase the injustice and pain of recent years.
