How a Mother’s Phone Call Unraveled a Drone-and-Sniper Plot Targeting the White House UFC Event

The White House UFC event plot might never have come to light if not for an alarmed mother who picked up the phone and called police on her own son. What started as a parent’s desperate concern quickly spiraled into the unraveling of an alleged terror scheme involving drones, snipers, and targets that reportedly included members of Congress.

According to a federal criminal complaint, the plan centered on Sunday’s UFC event held on the White House South Lawn. Authorities allege the conspirators intended to launch a coordinated assault aimed at U.S. politicians attending the high-profile gathering.

A Plan to “Jump-Start” a Revolution

At the heart of the case is Tycen Proper, a 19-year-old from Danville, Ohio. Federal investigators say Proper admitted on June 11 that he wanted to ignite what he described as a revolution in the United States.

The alleged blueprint was chilling in its detail. According to charging documents, the attack was set for June 14 and would have unfolded in stages:

  • Drone bombings launched over the north side of the arena to open the assault
  • Co-conspirators positioned as snipers overlooking the southern evacuation routes
  • Gunfire directed at “high value targets,” including politicians the group accused of backing Israeli interests

Proper now faces multiple charges, among them attempted murder of an officer or employee of the United States.

The Call That Stopped It

The entire scheme began to collapse the evening of June 10, when Proper’s mother contacted police in Danville. Her concerns painted a disturbing picture of a young man spiraling toward violence.

She reportedly flagged a series of alarming behaviors, including:

  • Recent purchases of firearms, ammunition, and ballistic plates
  • Ties to a Christian extremist group he followed on TikTok
  • An obsession with Jeffrey Epstein and theories about government corruption
  • Online posts expressing sympathy for Adolf Hitler
  • His stated plan to carry out “hit and run missions”

That same evening, Proper was hospitalized after expressing homicidal ideations. The mother’s intervention set off a chain of events that would expose a far larger network.

A Multi-State Web of Suspects

The investigation into Proper led authorities across several states. According to federal complaints, at least four additional people were arrested in connection with the alleged plot:

  • Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez in Nebraska
  • Bryan Omar Roa in California
  • Michael Alan Thomas in California
  • Daniel Eskridge in Missouri

During his interview with law enforcement, Proper pointed to a figure known only by the moniker “Shepherd” as the group’s chief organizer. Investigators allege that person was Alvarez, who reportedly used coded language in encrypted chats to describe the group’s priority targets.

The Alleged Targets

The list of intended targets, as described in the complaint, was extensive and reached the highest levels of government. Through encrypted messages, the group allegedly identified several prominent figures, including President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Elon Musk.

Netanyahu’s possible attendance had been the subject of online speculation, though he ultimately did not appear at the event.

Beyond those high-profile names, investigators say the group also set its sights on several members of Congress. The alleged congressional targets included Sens. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, and both Jim Justice and Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, along with Reps. Carol Miller and Riley Moore, also of West Virginia.

A Race Against the Clock

The FBI learned of the alleged threat just four days before the mixed martial arts spectacle was scheduled to take place. What followed was a fast-moving, multi-state operation to identify and detain those involved before any plan could be carried out.

FBI Director Kash Patel credited swift coordination for stopping the scheme. In a post on X, he said that because of rapid action by the FBI, its partners, and the Department of Justice, several individuals were taken into custody and the alleged attacks were halted before they could begin. Secret Service Director Sean Curran echoed that message, noting that agents worked around the clock to identify those responsible and ensure accountability.

A Celebration Under Threat

The event itself carried added significance. Trump, who marked his 80th birthday at Sunday’s UFC gathering, had sought to connect the fights to broader festivities celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Instead, the occasion became the focal point of an alleged plot that authorities say could have turned a celebration into a massacre. That it was stopped at all, officials suggest, came down to a combination of vigilant law enforcement and one mother’s willingness to speak up about her son.

The case serves as a stark reminder of how quickly online radicalization can escalate into real-world danger — and how a single phone call, made out of fear and love, can change the course of events entirely.
